Gastonia, NC (January 8, 2026) – A crash involving at least one vehicle striking a commercial building left one person critically injured on the night of January 7 in Gastonia. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Chester St, just south of I-85.
Emergency responders from Gaston Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) were dispatched to the scene, where a Dodge pickup and a Nissan sedan were both found with visible damage. The vehicles came to rest near a small commercial structure, which appeared to have sustained damage from the impact.
Paramedics evaluated two individuals on-site. One person was transported to CaroMont Health Main with life-threatening injuries, while the second individual declined medical treatment at the scene.
