Chula Vista, CA (January 9, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision resulted in injuries Tuesday afternoon on northbound Interstate 805 near Telegraph Canyon Rd, just south of L St, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 12:00 p.m. and involved a gray Honda Odyssey and a white Mazda SUV. One of the vehicles was reported as undriveable and was left blocking a middle lane, causing traffic congestion in the area. Additional vehicles, including a white Toyota and a blue Honda, were also mentioned in incident updates, though their involvement is still being reviewed.
Emergency medical services were dispatched under CHP code 1141, indicating confirmed injuries. Paramedics provided care at the scene, and a tow service (1185) was called to remove the disabled vehicles from the roadway.
Traffic lanes #2 and #3 were affected by the crash, prompting delays and requiring assistance from metro services to help manage the scene.
CHP officers are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the crash and the sequence of events leading up to it.
