Taney, MO (January 9, 2026) – A woman was hospitalized following a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Thursday afternoon along MO-76, approximately one mile south of Forsyth in Taney County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 3:21 p.m. when a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500, traveling eastbound, failed to properly negotiate a curve in the roadway. The truck crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Mazda CX-30.
The 79-year-old driver of the Mazda, a Forsyth resident, was wearing a seatbelt but sustained moderate injuries in the impact. Emergency medical services transported her to Cox South Hospital for further evaluation and care. Her vehicle was declared a total loss and towed from the scene by Jim’s Towing.
The driver of the Dodge, a 21-year-old man from Cabool, MO, was not reported injured. His vehicle sustained moderate damage but was removed from the scene by the owner.
Trooper C.B. Henderson is overseeing the investigation, which remains ongoing. Initial findings suggest that loss of control while navigating the curve was the primary contributing factor in the crash.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver, and we wish her a smooth and full recovery.
