Houston, TX (January 9, 2026) – Several people sustained injuries following a crash involving a Metro bus on Thursday evening along Highway 59 near Cavalcade St. Emergency units responded just after 6:00 p.m. after receiving reports of a serious collision that left multiple vehicles disabled, including the bus.

According to dispatch audio, a private vehicle was found stationary in the middle of the highway, while the Metro bus had pulled to the shoulder. Houston Fire Department personnel, along with multiple ambulances, arrived at the scene to assess and treat those injured. Several individuals received medical attention on-site, and at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

Officials have not yet released the total number of injuries or the identities of those involved.
