Union County, SD (January 10, 2026) – A serious rollover crash along Interstate 29 northbound near mile marker 2 in Union County left one person injured and trapped inside their vehicle on Saturday, prompting a swift emergency response.
The incident occurred near the South Dakota-Iowa state line and involved a single vehicle that overturned along the interstate. Emergency crews arrived to find the driver still trapped inside the rolled vehicle, initiating rescue operations to safely extricate them.
Officials confirmed that the driver sustained injuries in the crash, though the severity has not yet been released. Paramedics provided medical assistance at the scene before transporting the individual to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and care.
Northbound lanes of I-29 were temporarily affected while responders worked to stabilize the scene and conduct the investigation. Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to overturn.
