Linn County, IA (January 10, 2026) – Five individuals were injured on January 9 following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Home Rd. The crash occurred at approximately 2:34 p.m. and involved a Toyota RAV4 and a Hyundai Tucson, both sustaining significant damage.
According to law enforcement, the driver of the RAV4 was traveling northbound on Hwy 13 when they failed to stop at the intersection and struck the Tucson, which was heading westbound. The RAV4 came to rest in the median with front-end damage, while the Tucson was left blocking the northbound lanes with extensive front and side damage.
The 80-year-old RAV4 driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The 73-year-old driver of the Tucson, along with four additional passengers, was also taken to the hospital. All injuries were reported as non-life-threatening.
Authorities cited the RAV4 driver for failure to obey a traffic control device. The collision remains under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
