San Diego, CA (January 11, 2026) – A motorcycle accident involving injuries occurred early on Saturday morning on California State Route 905 near the U.S.-Mexico border in San Diego. The crash was reported around 5:46 a.m. on January 10 and resulted in one person being transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital for trauma care.
Emergency responders arrived on scene to find a 32-year-old male rider with injuries to his chest and lower left leg. Medics reported that the rider had been traveling at freeway speeds when a vehicle reportedly swerved in front of him, causing him to lose control and crash onto the freeway. The rider rolled off to the side after impact but remained conscious and alert.
Border Patrol agents were first on scene and helped remove the motorcycle from the roadway to prevent further collisions. Paramedics from Medic 29 treated the motorcyclist at the scene, applying full spinal precautions and preparing for hospital transport. The patient was described as having a stable pulse and blood pressure, with no life-threatening symptoms immediately reported.
The incident caused slowdowns in early morning traffic while emergency personnel assisted the injured rider and cleared the scene. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash, including the possibility of another vehicle’s involvement and whether unsafe lane changes contributed to the incident.
Our thoughts are with the injured rider, and we commend both Border Patrol and emergency medical crews for their swift and coordinated response.
