Vernon, MO (January 11, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision occurred on Friday afternoon on 1447 Rd, about half a mile west of Nevada, resulting in injuries to a 17-year-old driver, according to Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at approximately 4:05 p.m. in Vernon County when a 2020 Jeep Gladiator, driven by a 39-year-old man from El Dorado Springs, was stopped in the roadway and began backing up. During the maneuver, the Jeep struck a 2012 Ford F-150 directly behind it, driven by a 17-year-old female, also from El Dorado Springs.
The teen driver sustained injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Nevada Regional Medical Center for evaluation. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The Jeep sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene, while the F-150 had moderate damage and was towed by TCB Towing and Recovery.
Authorities remained on-site to assess the scene and document the incident. Our thoughts are with the injured teen as she recovers, and we thank responders and community members who assisted following the crash.
