Newport News, VA (January 12, 2026) – Emergency crews were dispatched Friday afternoon following a report of an auto-pedestrian accident near a Walmart located off Jefferson Ave in Newport News.
The call came in shortly after 2:00 p.m., prompting the response of Engine 3, Medic 3, and EMS 1 to the area near the intersection of Morris Dr and Brook St. Units canvassed the surrounding area, including the parking lot of the retail center, in search of a reported injured pedestrian.
While traffic was briefly impacted as crews investigated the scene, no confirmed collision or injured individual was located. After thoroughly checking the area and surrounding locations, emergency personnel cleared the scene without further incident.
Authorities have not released any additional details, and it remains unclear whether the initial report was unfounded or if those involved left prior to emergency response arrival.
