Orlando, FL (January 13, 2026) – A 35-year-old woman was injured Friday evening after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric scooter near West Underwood Street in Orlando’s 32806 area.
Orlando Rescue 2 transported the injured rider to Orlando Regional Medical Center under trauma screen protocol following the collision. Emergency personnel reported the woman sustained a head injury, with noticeable pain on the left side of her head. No other major injuries were noted during radio communications, though medical staff continued evaluation upon arrival at the hospital.
The incident occurred near the edge of downtown, in a corridor frequently used by both local traffic and scooter riders. The area has seen increased scooter usage in recent years, raising ongoing concerns about visibility and right-of-way conflicts between motorists and micro-mobility users.
Authorities have not confirmed whether charges or citations will follow, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the crash.
We extend our heartfelt wishes for the injured woman’s recovery and support as she heals from this incident.
