St. Louis, MO (January 13, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on northbound I-270 near MO-340 on Monday night resulted in one woman sustaining injuries, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 8:10 p.m. when a 2021 Jeep Wrangler, driven by a 46-year-old woman from St. Charles, was unable to slow down in time due to congested traffic. Authorities say the Jeep moved from lane four into lane three, striking the rear of a 2010 BMW X3 driven by a 43-year-old woman from Florissant.
Emergency personnel with the Creve Coeur Fire Protection District transported the driver of the BMW to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment of injuries. She had been wearing a seat belt. The driver of the Jeep was not reported injured and was also properly restrained at the time of the crash.
The BMW sustained moderate damage and was secured along the roadside north of the crash site. The Jeep had minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene. Tpr. D. J. Bittick led the investigation, with assistance from Msgt. D. L. Bilyeu.
We extend our well wishes to the injured woman and hope for her quick recovery.
