Pleasant Twp, OH (January 13, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US Route 224 and Lincoln Highway in Van Wert County left one driver with injuries Monday afternoon, according to officials from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 3:44 p.m. on January 12. A 2010 Toyota Prius, driven by 69-year-old Gary Reidenbach of Convoy, was heading westbound on Lincoln Highway when it failed to yield at a stop sign. The Prius entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound 2007 Ford F150 traveling along US 224, driven by 29-year-old Daniel Baker of Nappanee, Indiana.
The impact left the Prius stopped in the roadway, while the Ford pickup veered off into a roadside ditch. Van Wert City EMS transported the driver of the Ford F150 to Ohio Health Van Wert with suspected minor injuries. Reidenbach, the driver of the Prius, was not reported injured.
Responding agencies included the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Van Wert Post, the Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, Van Wert City Fire and EMS, as well as local towing services.
The crash remains under investigation. Authorities continue to urge all drivers to come to complete stops at intersections and check for cross traffic before proceeding.
