Upland, CA (January 13, 2026) – A deadly crash involving a white Honda Civic and a construction box truck took place on January 12 along the eastbound 210 Freeway near Mountain Ave in Upland. The collision was reported at approximately 5:55 p.m., according to California Highway Patrol logs.
Emergency responders from the Upland Fire Department arrived quickly to the scene and found the Civic heavily smoking from the impact. At least one person sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Another individual was injured in the crash and transported to Pomona Valley Hospital for further treatment, though their condition has not been confirmed.
Several eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway were shut down to allow emergency personnel to manage the scene, provide aid, and remove the damaged vehicles. Traffic remained backed up in the area for an extended period while investigators documented evidence and worked to determine the cause of the wreck.
Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased, and the investigation into what led to the crash remains active.
