Meriden, CT (January 15, 2026) – A serious two-alarm fire broke out Wednesday at a residence on Gracey Ave in Meriden, leaving one person unconscious and prompting a large-scale response from multiple agencies, including mutual aid units from Middletown.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy flames showing from a two-story wood-framed home located at 271 Gracey Ave. Crews quickly launched an aggressive interior attack and search operation. One unconscious victim was located and removed from the structure, though their current condition has not been publicly released.
The fire required additional manpower and resources due to its intensity, leading to the second alarm being struck. Firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the blaze under control while ensuring the safety of nearby structures and residents.
