Oklahoma City, OK (January 15, 2026) – A crash with injuries was reported early Tuesday morning near the intersection of Southwest 48th St and South Shartel Ave in Oklahoma City.
The incident occurred around 7:03 a.m., with Engine 25 dispatched to the scene following reports of an injury accident in the 73109 area. Upon arrival, crews located at least one vehicle involved in the crash and assessed individuals at the scene for injuries.
Medical responders treated those hurt, and at least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for additional care. The nature and severity of injuries have not yet been made public.
The area surrounding SW 48th St and S Shartel Ave experienced minor traffic disruptions while authorities worked to secure the scene and begin their investigation. This section of southwest Oklahoma City is bordered by both residential and commercial zones, which often experience increased traffic during morning commute hours.
