Taney, MO (January 16, 2026) – A two-car collision early on Thursday morning left one person injured on US-65, roughly three miles south of Hollister in Taney County. The crash, which occurred at approximately 2:07 a.m., involved a southbound Ford Focus and a westbound Mitsubishi Eclipse.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the collision unfolded when a 2014 Ford Focus failed to stop for a red traffic signal and struck the front end of a 2019 Mitsubishi Eclipse that was in the process of turning. The impact forced the Ford Focus off the roadway. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were later removed by Natural State Towing.
The driver of the Ford Focus, a 22-year-old female from Harrison, AR, was reported to have suffered injuries. She was transported privately to Cox Branson Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Both drivers were using safety restraints at the time of the accident.
No additional injuries were reported at the scene. The male driver of the Mitsubishi Eclipse, a 25-year-old from Star City, AR, did not require transportation for medical care. Officials with Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol conducted the investigation, which remains ongoing to determine any further contributing factors.
We extend our well wishes to the young woman recovering from this accident.
