Greece, NY (January 18, 2026) – A deadly crash occurred early on Saturday afternoon at the intersection of W Ridge Rd and Elmgrove Rd in Greece, claiming the life of one driver and seriously injuring two others. The collision happened around 1:00 p.m. and involved two westbound vehicles.
According to police, one vehicle was stopped at a red light when it was rear-ended by another westbound vehicle. The driver of the striking vehicle, who was the sole occupant, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency personnel. Fire crews and medics worked quickly to assist the occupants of the second vehicle, both of whom sustained serious injuries and were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
The intersection was shut down for several hours as investigators documented the scene and began piecing together the events leading up to the crash. The force of the impact and the resulting damage highlighted the severity of the collision.
