Pleasant Valley, NY (January 19, 2026) – A serious head-on collision involving two vehicles occurred on Monday at 575 Salt Point Turnpike in Pleasant Valley, leaving six individuals injured and prompting a large-scale emergency response.
Emergency crews, including Pleasant Valley Fire and EMS, arrived at the scene along with multiple ambulances to assist those hurt in the crash. According to reports from the county medic, five of the six patients required transport for further treatment under Basic Life Support (BLS) protocols. Four were transported to local hospitals, while one individual refused medical attention (RMA) and was taken into custody by New York State Police in connection with a possible DWI under Section 1192.
The collision caused a temporary road closure as Fire Police secured the scene and responders coordinated rescue and transport efforts. The extent of the injuries has not been fully disclosed, but multiple patients received on-site care prior to being taken to medical facilities.
Authorities are actively investigating the cause of the crash and have not yet released further details about those involved.
