Jasper, MO (January 19, 2026) – A Saturday afternoon accident in Jasper County resulted in injuries and significant vehicle damage after two pickups collided northeast of Carthage. The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 p.m. on January 17 along County Road 130, about two miles northeast of the city.
Authorities say the collision involved a northbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado and an eastbound 2017 GMC Sierra. Following the impact, both vehicles traveled off the right side of the roadway, drawing an emergency response to the rural stretch of road.
Emergency responders from Carthage, along with paramedics, arrived at the scene to assist those involved. A 17-year-old female occupant from the GMC Sierra suffered injuries in the accident. She was wearing a safety device at the time and was transported by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital in Carthage for medical evaluation and care.
The GMC Sierra, driven by an 18-year-old female from Carthage, sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Schrader’s Wrecker. The Chevrolet Silverado, operated by a 17-year-old female from Carthage, sustained extensive damage and was later removed by a private party. Both drivers were reported to have been wearing safety devices at the time of the accident.
Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop D is reviewing the circumstances surrounding the accident as part of an ongoing investigation. No additional injuries were reported at the scene.
