Vail Twp, MN (January 19, 2026) – A multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and three passenger vehicles occurred on Highway 68 in Redwood County, resulting in at least one reported injury.
The incident took place at approximately 4:21 p.m. on January 18 near mile marker 66 in Vail Township. According to Minnesota State Patrol reports, a Kenworth semi-truck collided with a Chrysler Town & Country minivan. The impact caused a chain reaction, with a Chevrolet Equinox then striking the semi and a Ford Fusion veering off the roadway as a result.
First responders from the Lucan Fire Department, Wabasso Fire, Wabasso Ambulance, and the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office arrived on scene to assist. The Minnesota Department of Transportation also responded to manage roadway conditions and traffic impacts.
Emergency medical crews treated the 17-year-old male driver of the Chevrolet Equinox for non-life-threatening injuries. He was transported to CentraCare for further evaluation. Other vehicle occupants, including several juvenile passengers and adult drivers, were evaluated at the scene and reported no injuries.
The roadway was affected for several hours while authorities worked to investigate the scene and safely clear the involved vehicles. Officials confirmed that all individuals involved were wearing seat belts and that alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
