Sarasota, FL (January 20, 2026) – Several people were hurt Monday night in a traffic accident that occurred at the intersection of N Tamiami Trl and General Spaatz Blvd, near the entrance to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport. Multiple agencies responded swiftly to the incident, including Sarasota County Fire Department units based out of Station 4.
Authorities say the accident was first reported at approximately 9:42 p.m. Emergency personnel arrived shortly after, finding multiple vehicles involved and a number of individuals in need of medical care. Paramedics provided immediate treatment at the scene for a variety of injuries. At least some of the victims were later taken to nearby hospitals for further evaluation.
The roadway was partially blocked as responders assisted the injured and worked to safely remove damaged vehicles from the intersection. The specific makes and models of the vehicles involved have not yet been disclosed, and the identities of those injured remain unreleased.
