Dix Hills, NY (January 20, 2026) – A multi-vehicle accident early Sunday morning left one woman seriously injured and another person hurt after a northbound Porsche lost control on East Deer Park Rd near Arielle Ct, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
The collision occurred around 8:40 a.m. on January 18, when a 2017 Porsche driven by a 52-year-old man from Plainview began to fishtail while traveling northbound. Authorities say the car crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 72-year-old man from Commack.
After the initial impact, the Porsche continued forward and struck a southbound 2022 Volkswagen carrying a 52-year-old driver from Huntington Station and a 43-year-old female passenger from East Northport. The woman sustained serious injuries in the crash and was transported alongside the Volkswagen’s driver to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip. Officials stated the man’s injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Both the driver of the Porsche and the Equinox were reportedly unharmed. The involved vehicles sustained heavy damage and were removed from the scene by tow crews following the conclusion of the initial investigation.
Authorities are still reviewing the circumstances that led to the Porsche losing control, and weather or road surface conditions may be factors under consideration. East Deer Park Rd was partially shut down during the response efforts but has since reopened to regular traffic.
Our thoughts are with the injured individuals, especially the woman recovering from serious injuries, and we hope for a full and timely recovery.
