Black Hawk Co, IA (January 20, 2026) – A head-on crash involving two pickup trucks sent three people to the hospital Sunday night in Black Hawk County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred around 8:52 p.m. on January 18 along South Hudson Rd. Authorities identified the drivers as 25-year-old Michael Krienert and 77-year-old Randall Jones, both from Traer. Jenni Tieman, 50, also of Traer, was a passenger in Jones’s Chevrolet Silverado.
Investigators reported that the two trucks collided head-on, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency responders, including the Iowa State Patrol, Hudson Fire Department, and Hudson Ambulance, assisted at the scene. All three individuals involved were transported to local hospitals with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Officials noted that weather conditions—specifically blowing snow and poor visibility—played a role in the crash.
