Fayetteville, WV (January 20, 2026) – A serious multi-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer left several people injured Sunday afternoon in Fayetteville. The crash occurred around 2:00 p.m. at the intersection of US-19 and North Court Street (WV-16), prompting a large-scale emergency response.
According to reports, the wreck involved the tractor-trailer and three additional vehicles. The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, multiple EMS units, and local law enforcement agencies responded to the scene to assist the victims and manage traffic.
Two patients with serious injuries were airlifted to trauma centers for emergency care. Three others were transported by ambulance to Raleigh General Hospital and Summersville Regional Medical Center. Authorities have not yet released the identities or current conditions of the injured.
The scene was shut down for an extended period as responders worked to treat victims, clear the roadway, and begin an investigation into the cause of the crash. Damage to all vehicles involved was described as significant.
