Maitland, FL (January 21, 2026) – An auto accident on the eastbound side of I-4 near mile marker 89 left several people injured Wednesday morning, drawing a significant emergency response to the busy stretch of highway in Maitland.
The incident occurred around 9:21 a.m., and emergency medical teams arrived shortly after to tend to those hurt in the crash. Injured individuals received on-site care for a variety of conditions; however, officials have not yet confirmed how many people were involved or the extent of their injuries.
Although the roadway was cleared by mid-morning, traffic was slowed for a period as crews worked to assist the victims and manage vehicle removal. The crash took place along a frequently traveled corridor near downtown Maitland, compounding congestion during the morning commute.
The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident, and no further details have been released regarding contributing factors.
