Bronx, NY (January 21, 2026) – A person was injured on Tuesday in an apartment fire that broke out at 2137 Glebe Ave in the Westchester Heights section of the Bronx.
Firefighters and emergency medical crews were dispatched to the multi-unit residential building following reports of smoke and flames. Upon arrival, responders encountered an active fire and began evacuation and suppression efforts.
One individual was located with injuries related to the incident. Medics provided immediate assistance at the scene and transported the injured person to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed, though the victim was reported to be conscious during transport.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to neighboring units. Fire marshals remained on-site to determine the origin and cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation.
