Mound Township, MN (January 22, 2026) – A collision involving a semi-truck and an SUV resulted in at least one reported injury on Wednesday afternoon along Highway 75, approximately two miles south of Hardwick in Rock County. The crash occurred around 12:14 p.m., prompting a multi-agency response including the Luverne Fire Department, the Hardwick Fire Department, and the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Medics treated several individuals at the scene, including 73-year-old Judy Marie Hensley of Luverne, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was transported to Sioux Falls Hospital for further care. The SUV, a 2002 Ford Excursion, was traveling northbound along with the semi when the vehicles collided. The SUV carried multiple passengers at the time of the crash, including a 16-year-old girl and three other adult occupants, all of whom escaped injury.
The semi, identified as a 2024 Cascadia, was driven by 53-year-old Wendell William Yoder of Waterbury, Nebraska. No injuries were reported for Yoder or any other individuals in the semi.
Officials are investigating the cause of the crash, including road conditions and vehicle positioning at the time of impact. According to authorities, airbags were deployed in the SUV, but not in the semi. Alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
