North Hollywood, CA (January 24, 2026) – Emergency responders were called to the scene of a fatal traffic accident early Friday morning on Whitnall Hwy in North Hollywood. The collision occurred in front of an apartment building near the mouth of an alley and resulted in the death of an adult male driver at the scene.
At approximately 12:00 a.m., Valley traffic units and ambulance crews arrived at the location following reports of a vehicle incident involving a black 1998 Honda Civic. Upon arrival, first responders found the male driver unresponsive. The individual was declared deceased on scene, confirming a DOA (dead on arrival) traffic incident.
Initial dispatch notes indicate that the vehicle was positioned in front of an apartment complex, partially obstructing an alley entrance. The male driver, whose identity has not yet been released, was described as wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt. While additional parties were reportedly near the vehicle, including references to three infants, further details regarding their involvement or condition have not been confirmed by authorities.
Los Angeles Police Department and coroner personnel are continuing their investigation into the circumstances of the crash. It is not yet known whether other vehicles or external factors played a role in the incident. No arrests or citations have been reported.
