Plainfield, CT (January 26, 2026) – A person was hospitalized following a residential garage fire that broke out early on Friday morning on Pratt Rd in Plainfield, according to fire officials.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene just before 1 a.m. on January 23 after reports of heavy smoke coming from an attached garage. Upon arrival, emergency personnel encountered active flames and quickly initiated efforts to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the residence.
One individual sustained injuries in the incident and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed at this time.
Fire crews remained on the scene for approximately two and a half hours to fully extinguish the blaze and conduct overhaul operations. Their coordinated response helped prevent the fire from spreading beyond the garage area.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Plainfield Fire Marshal’s Office. Additional updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
