Los Angeles, CA (January 26, 2026) – A high-speed pursuit ended in a serious accident early January 25 on LAX property, leaving one individual injured and two people detained, according to reports from the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities stated that the incident began when officers observed a vehicle allegedly speeding and racing in the early morning hours. The pursuit was officially terminated at approximately 1:49 a.m. after troopers lost visual contact with the suspect vehicle.
Roughly 20 minutes later, at 2:07 a.m., CHP received reports of a crash involving the same vehicle near the intersection of Nash St and Imperial Hwy, just off the 105 Fwy on land designated as part of the Los Angeles International Airport complex.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and assisted the injured individual, who was later transported for further medical treatment. The condition of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. A second occupant of the vehicle was also taken into custody along with the driver, bringing the total number of detained individuals to two.
The area around Nash St and Imperial Hwy experienced temporary traffic disruptions as officers worked to secure the scene and begin the post-crash investigation. Law enforcement continues to review the circumstances that led to the pursuit and eventual wreck.
