Omaha, NE (January 26, 2026) – A two-car accident near Mercy Rd in Douglas County resulted in injuries to one driver, who was transported to a medical facility for evaluation on Monday morning.
Emergency crews responded promptly to the scene, where the restrained male driver of one of the vehicles was found experiencing back pain along with numbness and tingling in both legs. The crash occurred at low speed while the driver was reportedly attempting a turn. Upon assessment, paramedics noted bilateral leg pain but no visible deformities or signs of trauma.
The injured individual was fully alert and oriented at the time of transport. Medics placed him in a cervical collar and secured him to a backboard as a precaution due to the reported symptoms, which raised concern for a possible spinal injury. Vital signs remained stable during transport, and no loss of consciousness was reported.
Authorities are continuing to look into the circumstances of the collision, including the speed and angle of impact. No additional injuries were confirmed, and the other vehicle’s occupants have not yet been identified.
We extend our well-wishes to the injured party and hope for a smooth recovery in the days ahead.
