Enfield, CT (January 27, 2026) – A tragic chain-reaction crash on Interstate 91 South in Enfield claimed the life of a Bloomfield woman Monday afternoon, according to Connecticut State Police.
The fatal incident occurred around 2:45 p.m. near Exit 46, where two vehicles were stopped on the highway due to a previous collision. As traffic remained halted, a third vehicle approached and struck one of the stopped vehicles with significant force.
Sabria Hardy, 38, of Bloomfield, was seated in the passenger seat of one of the stopped vehicles when the crash occurred. Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported her to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Despite medical efforts, Hardy was later pronounced dead.
Authorities confirmed that no other individuals involved in the crash sustained serious injuries. The highway remained partially blocked for a period of time as state police conducted an investigation and worked to clear the scene.
The investigation into the events leading up to the crash remains ongoing. Officials have not yet indicated whether charges or citations will be filed.
