Bakersfield, CA (January 28, 2026) – Authorities responded to a possible hit-and-run collision involving a bicyclist Monday evening in a residential area of Bakersfield, with early reports suggesting the bicyclist may have sustained injuries.
The incident was reported around 6:00 p.m. near the intersection of Laurel Dr and Meredith Dr. Radio traffic from emergency personnel indicated a bicyclist may have been struck by a vehicle, which then possibly fled the scene. The call was flagged as a 20001, indicating a felony hit-and-run involving injury.
Units arrived on scene and began searching the area for the suspect vehicle and attending to the victim. The bicyclist’s condition has not yet been confirmed, but injuries were suspected based on initial dispatch information.
