San Diego, CA (January 28, 2026) – Two individuals were injured Monday evening following a multi-vehicle crash on Genesee Ave in the La Jolla area of San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 5:54 p.m., involving several vehicles near a busy section of Genesee Ave. Emergency crews arrived promptly to assist the injured and assess the scene.
One of the victims, a 35-year-old woman, suffered injuries described as possibly major and was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment. A 49-year-old man involved in the crash reported back pain but declined to be taken to the hospital after being examined by paramedics on site.
Officials have not confirmed the number of vehicles involved or the circumstances that led to the crash. CHP has launched an investigation to determine the cause and whether any contributing factors such as driver error or road conditions played a role.
