San Diego, CA (January 28, 2026) – A 39-year-old pregnant woman was evaluated by paramedics following a minor rear-end collision near West Arbor Dr in San Diego on Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred while the woman was riding as a rear passenger in a small sedan that was stopped at a traffic light. Another sedan, traveling at approximately 15 miles per hour, struck the vehicle from behind. Although there was no significant vehicle damage and airbags did not deploy, the woman later reported an unusual warm sensation in her lower back that began after the impact.
Emergency personnel from Mercy Medic 83 responded to the scene and assessed the woman, who is currently 16 weeks pregnant with her fourth pregnancy. She denied any direct pain, loss of consciousness, or trauma to the head, neck, or spine but expressed concern due to the new sensation. Her vital signs were stable, and she had recently been cleared during a routine prenatal visit earlier that day.
The patient was transported to a nearby medical facility for precautionary evaluation.
We send our best wishes to the expectant mother for a safe and full recovery.
