Evansville, IN (January 29, 2026) – A vehicle accident on I-69 eastbound over US-41 prompted a large-scale emergency response on January 28 after initial reports suggested injuries and entrapment. The crash occurred around 11:09 a.m., leading to the deployment of fire, rescue, and EMS personnel to the scene.
Multiple units, including Engine 15, Ladder 16, Rescue 1, and Battalion 2, were dispatched following an iPhone crash alert and further confirmation from automated location services. While extrication was initially considered, responders later downgraded it as a precautionary measure after assessing the vehicles involved.
One or more individuals were reported injured, though the extent of injuries and the number of vehicles involved have not yet been publicly confirmed. Crews operated on fireground radio channels to coordinate response and maintain traffic safety in the elevated section of the highway.
