Prairieville, LA (January 29, 2026) – A hit-and-run accident on I-10 East near mile marker 171 resulted in reported injuries on January 29, just before the Prairieville exit. According to early details shared by local traffic sources, the incident involved at least two vehicles and led to immediate concerns for those inside the struck vehicle.
Crews from Ascension Parish responded promptly to the eastbound lanes of the interstate, where they found one vehicle with visible damage and at least one occupant requiring medical attention. Emergency medical personnel assessed the injured party at the scene, and reports confirmed that injuries were sustained. The extent of those injuries has not yet been released.
The driver of the vehicle that fled the scene has not been identified. Witnesses reported the suspect vehicle continued heading eastbound without stopping. Authorities are reviewing surveillance and witness statements as part of the ongoing investigation.
