Livingston, CA (January 30, 2026) – A hit-and-run collision involving a farm tractor and a black Volkswagen Jetta resulted in injuries Thursday evening at the intersection of Robin Ave and Bell Dr near Livingston in Merced County.
The incident occurred shortly before 6:00 p.m., when the tractor and vehicle collided, causing damage and prompting a response from emergency medical personnel. According to California Highway Patrol dispatch, at least one person sustained injuries and received treatment at the scene by AMR and Cal Fire crews.
Adding to the incident’s complexity, the tractor was reportedly carrying approximately 80 gallons of weed killer. While most of the substance was contained on the roadway, a small amount spilled onto the dirt shoulder. Officials confirmed that the material was unplacarded and did not pose a risk to nearby waterways.
Authorities initiated an investigation into the hit-and-run element of the crash, and a tow truck was requested for vehicle removal. The driver responsible for fleeing the scene has not yet been publicly identified.
