Auburn, AL (January 30, 2026) – Emergency crews responded Wednesday morning to a vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of East University Dr and North College St in Auburn, according to dispatch audio from Lee County Public Safety.
The incident occurred around 11:31 a.m. on January 28, prompting the dispatch of Station 2 and Unit 109. Upon arrival, responders confirmed that airbags had deployed in at least one vehicle involved in the collision. A female occupant reported a possible hand injury and was evaluated on scene by medical personnel.
Traffic in the area was temporarily impacted as police and fire units secured the scene, provided care to the injured, and worked to clear the roadway. The crash occurred near a busy commercial and campus corridor, adding to midday congestion as emergency crews completed their response.
No other injuries were reported, and the extent of vehicle damage has not yet been officially disclosed. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances leading up to the crash.
