Greensburg, IN (January 31, 2026) – A serious crash involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle left two people injured Friday morning on Interstate 74 near the 132-mile marker in Greensburg. The collision occurred around 11:00 a.m. on January 30 and caused significant delays along the eastbound entrance ramp from Old US Highway 421.
According to the Greensburg Police Department, the crash happened when a passenger vehicle attempted to merge onto eastbound I-74 and was struck by an oncoming semi-truck. The impact caused the semi to overturn off the side of the roadway, leaving the truck’s driver trapped inside.
First responders located both drivers at the scene. An Indianapolis woman, who was driving the passenger vehicle, was transported by ground to Decatur County Memorial Hospital with injuries. The semi-truck driver required extrication by the Greensburg Fire Department and was airlifted to a regional hospital for further treatment.
The entrance ramp was shut down for several hours as emergency crews responded and investigators assessed the crash site. According to officials, the ramp was safely reopened by 4:37 p.m.
The Greensburg Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
