San Diego, CA (February 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded Friday evening to a multi-vehicle traffic collision with injuries on the southbound side of CA-163 near the I-5 interchange in San Diego. The crash was reported around 6:01 p.m. on January 31, according to dispatch audio from San Diego CHP and RCS Law Mutual Aid channels.
First responders, including fire and law enforcement units, were dispatched to the scene following reports of a Code 1179 incident, indicating a collision involving injuries with an ambulance response required. The crash involved three vehicles and occurred near a high-traffic transition point between CA-163 and I-5, an area frequently congested during peak commute hours.
Emergency medical personnel treated injured individuals at the scene. While the extent of injuries has not yet been officially confirmed, multiple responders were involved, suggesting significant concern for the well-being of those affected.
