Long Beach, CA (February 2, 2026) – An accident involving injuries led to emergency activity Sunday evening at the intersection of Cherry Avenue and East 5th Street in Long Beach. The incident was reported at approximately 8:13 p.m. and resulted in temporary traffic disruptions in the area.
According to dispatch information, one of the individuals involved in the accident began experiencing severe leg pain following the collision. The injured woman reportedly was unable to stand or bear weight due to the pain and requested medical transport for further evaluation. Fire crews and emergency medical services were asked to return to the scene to assist her.
As responders worked to provide care, the crash scene required additional time to clear. Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles, which led to southbound Cherry Avenue being blocked between Fifth Street and nearby access points. Drivers were advised to expect delays while crews worked to safely reopen the roadway.
