Why Multi-Family Fires Can Be Particularly Dangerous
Fires in apartments or multi-family buildings can spread rapidly, putting many residents at risk. Thick smoke, limited exit routes, and delayed detection can make evacuation difficult, especially during early morning hours.
Firefighters prioritize evacuating occupants while containing the flames to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring units. Investigators examine electrical systems, appliances, and other potential ignition sources to determine how the fire started and to prevent future incidents.
