How Tire Failures Can Lead to Serious Accidents
Tire blowouts can quickly cause drivers to lose control of a vehicle, especially at higher speeds. When a tire suddenly fails, the vehicle may swerve, spin, or veer into other lanes or objects.
The risk of injury increases when the vehicle collides with roadside structures, other vehicles, or large objects such as RVs. Even vehicles equipped with safety features such as airbags may not fully prevent serious injuries in sudden, high-impact crashes.
Proper tire maintenance, including checking tread depth and air pressure, can help reduce the likelihood of blowouts. Drivers are also advised to adjust speed and maintain extra caution when traveling on highways or roads with heavy traffic, where sudden vehicle malfunctions can have severe consequences.
