Why Do Hit-and-Run Crashes Create Additional Risks on Highways?
Main travel routes near Interstate 65 often carry steady traffic at higher speeds, which can increase the danger in the event of a crash. When a driver leaves the scene, it may delay assistance and complicate the response.
Vehicles that overturn or come to rest in unsafe positions can create hazards for other drivers. This can raise the risk of secondary crashes, especially if lanes are partially blocked.
Driver awareness, safe following distance, and prompt reporting of incidents all help reduce harm. Prompt response and clear communication help restore safe conditions on busy highways.
