What Are Common Fire Risks Inside the Home?
House fires often begin in areas where heat sources and daily activities overlap, such as kitchens. Cooking equipment, especially stoves, is one of the leading sources of residential fires. Leaving food unattended or having flammable items too close to heat can quickly lead to a dangerous situation.
Electrical issues are another frequent cause. Faulty wiring, overloaded outlets, or damaged appliances can spark fires without warning. Regular inspection of cords and devices can help reduce these risks.
Smoke can spread faster than flames, making it one of the most dangerous elements during a fire. Having working smoke detectors and a clear escape plan can make a significant difference in emergencies.
