Why Right-Turn Crashes Can Be Risky for Cyclists
Right turns at intersections can create hazards when drivers and cyclists share the same space. A driver may not see a cyclist approaching from the side, especially near sidewalks or crosswalks.
Cyclists crossing intersections may also enter areas where vehicles are turning. This can lead to sudden conflicts if timing and visibility are limited.
Staying aware of surroundings and checking carefully before turning can help reduce the risk of these types of crashes.
