An occupant in the second vehicle was hurt and taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. No other injuries were confirmed at the time of the report.

We extend our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
How Turning Collisions at Intersections Often Happen
Crashes at intersections frequently involve vehicles turning across traffic. These situations can lead to serious outcomes when drivers misjudge speed or distance. Left turns are often involved because they require crossing oncoming lanes, which increases the chance of impact.
Visibility can also affect these accidents. Nighttime conditions, glare from headlights, or blocked sightlines may make it harder to see approaching vehicles. Traffic signals and signs are designed to help manage these risks, but drivers still need to remain alert and cautious when entering an intersection.
Vehicle speed plays a part as well. Higher speeds reduce reaction time and increase the force of impact. Even in lower-speed areas, turning collisions can still result in severe injuries due to the angle and point of contact between vehicles.
