According to reports, a 2000 Chevrolet pickup was traveling north while a 2015 Lincoln Navigator was heading south. Authorities said the Lincoln crossed the center line and struck the Chevrolet head-on.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as 36-year-old Ralph Fulmore Jr., died at the scene. He was a paramedic in Florence County and had joined the EMT program in June 2023. The driver of the Lincoln was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing a helicopter land on the roadway as emergency units responded. One of the vehicles was severely damaged, making it difficult to recognize.
