What Causes Single-Vehicle Rollover Crashes on Highways
Single-vehicle rollover crashes can occur when a driver suddenly changes direction or loses control at highway speeds. Sharp steering movements, tire issues, or roadway conditions can all contribute to this type of incident.
When a vehicle overturns, the risk of serious injury increases due to the force of the movement and impact. Even with seat belts in use, occupants may still experience significant harm.
Highway design, including medians and shoulders, can influence how a vehicle behaves after losing control. Factors such as speed, vehicle type, and driver reaction often play a role in how these crashes develop.
